A 96-year old veteran athlete from India's northern Chandigarh city, Mann Kaur is all set to participate in the Delhi Half Marathon, which is scheduled for the weekend.
Recently, after undergoing rigorous training, Kaur won a gold medal each in the 100 and 200-meter in the World Masters Athletic Championship in Sacramento, the US.
Kaur while talking to the reporters on Wednesday (September 26) said that it was due to God's grace that she was able to participate in the past and will do so in the future.
"With god's grace, I will run for 100 or 200 meters. I do not have the energy to run at this age but with his blessings, I will run," said Kaur.
Another athlete and her companion, Ravinder Singh said that she has already set an example for the youth and would further boost their confidence.
"She has set an example for the youngsters and will boost their confidence as the 96-year old has run at the international level and is also participating for the Delhi Half Marathon. It is very good," said Singh.
Apart from the Delhi Half Marathon, Kaur is looking forward to take part in the Asian Masters Meet to be held in Taiwan in November this year before World masters Meet to be held in Italy next year.
