Aerials show a 70-foot dock that was washed away from Japan by last year's devastating tsunami ashore on a beach in Oregon.

NEWPORT, OREGON, UNITED STATES (JUNE 6, 2012) (NBC) - After being washed away by a March 2011 tsunami a 70-foot dock from Japan washed onto a beach in Oregon Wednesday (June 6).

Aerials show the concrete and metal dock covered in barnacles and seaweed being battered by the incoming tide at Agate beach after its long oceanic sojourn.

State authorities confirmed the dock to be from Japan when a plaque on top of the structure was found and translated. The plaque indicates the dock is from the port of Misawa, Aomori Prefecture.
