Police charge British man Mark Bridger with the murder of April Jones, as the search for the missing girl continues.

MACHYNLLETHWALES, UK (OCTOBER 6, 2012) (ITN) -  A British suspect has been charged in the case of missing five-year-old April Jones on Saturday (October 6), as forensics searched the man's home in Wales.

Police charged 46-year-old Mark Bridger, who was arrested the day after Jones' disappearance, with her murder and child abduction.

Bridger will appear before the magistrates on Monday (October 8).

Police described the case as "complex and fast moving" and said Bridger would also be charged for attempting to pervert the course of justice.

"Having carried out a detailed review of the evidence gathered so far by the police, my conclusion is that there is sufficient evidence to charge Mark Bridger with the murder of April Jones, and that it is in the public interest to do so. I have also concluded that there is sufficient evidence to charge the defendant with attempting to pervert the course of justice and child abduction," Crown Prosecution ServiceIwan Jenkins, said.

Forensics were seen sorting through Bridger's rubbish and scouring his yard on Saturday.

Police said the search for Jones has not stopped, with ten specialist teams deployed in the town of Machynlleth.

"Our efforts (to fid April) will be as meticulous as they have been from the outset of this inquiry until we have exhausted all available options," Chief Constable Jackie Roberts said.

April disappeared while playing near her home on October 1.

She was seen willingly getting into what is believed to be a Land Rover Discovery on theBryn-y-Gog estate.
