Britons sunbathe and make the most of a sunny day in London as warm weather returns after a long spell of rains in the summer.

LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (AUGUST 18, 2012) (ITN) - Hundreds of Londoners headed to the city's Hyde Park on Saturday (August 18) to enjoy the sunshine.

Temperatures rose up to 32 degrees Centigrade (89.6 Fahrenheit) over the weekend, after a long spell of rains, bringing much respite to most parts of Britain.

The Park's Diana Memorial Fountain was busy, with adults and children alike cooling themselves in the water feature dedicated to the late princess.

Even animals got in on the act, with one dog taking to the Serpentine lake, in an effort to cool off with the swans.

The lake was packed with rowers.

Britain has recorded one of the wettest summers in recent years this season.
