 China-FM/Cyber security -- China suggests cooperation on building safety cyber space with US

 China Central Television (CCTV) - Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei elaborated once again China's stand on Internet safety on Friday.

"Regarding this issue, China and the US should have a calm discussion, and establish mutual trust and cooperation. Both sides should face the Internet safety threat together, to build a peaceful, secure, and cooperative cyber space," said Hong Lei in a regular press briefing in Beijing.

The U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is going to attend the 12th Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore during the weekend. He will meet the representatives fromChina.

The Shangri-La Dialogue is a "Track One" inter-governmental security forum held annually by an independent think tank -- the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), which is attended by defense ministers, permanent heads of ministries and military chiefs of 28 Asia-Pacific states. The forum gets its name from the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore where it has been held since 2002.
