A no-fly zone over Syria is one option, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says as she meets with Turkish officials over the Syrian conflict. Lindsey Parietti reports.

TURKEY-CLINTON SYRIA - Armed with batons, police push back protesters in Istanbul.

The demonstrators gathered in the Turkish capital against U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit.

Activists from the leftist Freedom and Solidarity Party oppose U.S. policies in the Middle East.

As Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's crackdown on rebel fighters continues, Clinton said the U.S. and Turkey are increasing strategic cooperation.

"We have been closely coordinating over the course of this conflict but now we need to get into the real details of such operational planning and it needs to be across both of our governments."

Establishing no-fly zones is one option on the table, she said after meeting with Turkish officials and Syrian activists.

Turkey will likely be a key player in a post-Assad transition.
