NAIROBIKENYA (SEPTEMBER 26, 2013) (REUTERS) -  Dozens gathered at a church in Nairobi on Thursday (September 26) to remember Nairobi mall attack victims, Mbugua Maina and his fiancé Rosemary Wahito ahead of a Friday (September 27) funeral service.

Mbugua, Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta's nephew and Wahito were among 72 people killed in an attack by Somali Islamist militants on a Nairobi shopping mall at the weekend.

The militants stormed the mall in a hail of gunfire and grenades at lunchtime on Saturday (September 21).

President Kenyatta said in a speech earlier this week that he felt the pain of every life lost in the attack, referring to his nephew and his fiancé as "young, lovely people".

The attack on the mall, which has left Kenyans reeling in shock, ended on Tuesday when security forces detonated explosives to get through locked doors inside the mall as they searched for militants or booby traps.
