Bad weather conditions cause a multiple car pile up in Fargo, forcing a major motorway in the U.S. state of North Dakota to close.

Police in North Dakota are trying to clear a major motorway after a multiple-car pile up 10 miles (16 km) west of Fargo on Thursday (December 30, 2010).
Cass County police officer Bruce Renshaw said an estimated 100 vehicles were involved in the chain collision on Interstate 94.
He blamed the accident, which happened around 1100 CST (1700 GMT) on icy roads and poor visibility from blowing snow. It took police about 45 minutes before they could divert traffic away from the area to stop more vehicles from joining the pile-up.
Renshaw said motorists were driving too fast in poor conditions. Fortunately, he said, there were no reports of serious injuries.
The interstate is closed and police and tow trucks are working to remove damaged vehicles. The area is under a blizzard warning and residents are being urged not to travel.
