CCTV BEIJING - The 14th China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC), a major national hi-tech expo, kicked off on May 17 in Beijing. New mobile Internet technologies have surprised visitors at the expo.
As mobile Internet has become popular today, users have increasing demand on related new services. A digital card exhibited at the CHITEC realizes online payment, transaction, and consumption via mobile phone. The user can pay bills by attaching the card to the SIM card in his cell phone. Security and convenience are guaranteed in the process.
The card dubbed "mobile walle" functions by connecting the user's cell phone to his bank cards. The "mobile wallet" can work with 95% of bank cards in China. To guarantee security, the user has to enter not only his bank account password, but also the password to the "mobile wallet", before authorizing a payment online via his cell phone.
"No service charge will occur if the card is normally used," an exhibitor explained, "More than 10 banks do not charge extra fees if the client pays back his credit card debts through his 'mobile wallet'." He continued. "If the 'mobile wallet' is used for purchasing at online malls, we don't charge service fees."
Mobile users can watch free TV programs via cell phone, besides accessing their bank accounts. Mobile Internet turns handheld devices to pocket televisions.
SIM card is not required for mobile TV service, which provides broadcasting of high visual quality with high transmitting speed. Voice can be also heard simultaneously.
The charge for mobile calls is far lower than that for calling through landlines. All cell phones in market can be used in different provinces without paying extra fees. Once the serve is activated by pressing certain button on the cell phone, the user will no longer worry about roaming charges.
