The International Space Station captures images of Typhoon Haiyan as it takes aim at the Philippines.
IN SPACE (NOVEMBER 9, 2013) (NASA) - Cameras aboard the International Space Station captured images of Typhoon Haiyan as it ripped through Philippines on Saturday (November 9). The typhoon killed an estimated 10,000 people in the Southeast Asian country and displaced more than 600,000, before heading west toVietnam.
Huge waves from one of the strongest storms ever recorded swept away coastal villages. Some officials likened the destruction to the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.The images from the space station were taken during a spacewalk on Saturday.
