Nelson Mandela's daughter Zindzi leaves her hotel in central London a day after learning of her father's death in Johannesburg.
LONDON, ENGLAND, UK (DECEMBER 6, 2013) (ITN) - Zindzi Mandela, daughter of former South African president Nelson Mandela, left the hotel on Friday (December 6) where she had been staying while in London for the Royal premiere of "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom".
South African anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela died aged 95 at his Johannesburg home on Thursday (December 5) after a prolonged lung infection, plunging his nation and the world into mourning for a man hailed by global leaders as a moral giant.Zindzi Mandela, along with other guests and members of the British Royal Family in attendance, only learned of her father's death during the movie event. On Friday evening, she left The Mandarin Hotel in central London as South Africa's 52 million people absorbed the news that Nelson Mandela, a global symbol of reconciliation and peaceful co-existence, had departed forever.
President Jacob Zuma said Mandela would be buried on Dec. 15 at his ancestral home in theEastern Cape.
