At least two people are stabbed and two police officers hurt when an anti-racism rally in Stockholmcomes under attack by far-right extremists, with Swedish police detaining 28 people.
KARRTORP, STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN (DECEMBER 15, 2013) (AMATEUR VIDEO) - Two people were stabbed and two police officers hurt in Sweden on Sunday (December 15) when an anti-racism rally in southern Stockholm came under attack by a group of around 40 far-right extremists.
Around two hundred anti-racism demonstrators were marching through the streets of Karrtorp, in the capital, when scuffles broke out with far-right extremists hurling flares, bottles and other objects at protesters.Local media reported that Swedish police had detained 28 people and those hurt during clashes were hospitalised.
The authorised demonstration was organised by a network called "Line17 against racism" in protest against Nazi graffiti appearing in parts of the local area.
Amateur video filmed by a bystander showed demonstrators being targeted by angry extremists who appeared to be attempting to surround them. Police officers rushed to the scene and attempted to stop scuffles.
A neo-Nazi group called the Swedish Resistance Movement claimed responsibility for the attack.
