ITALY-BERLUSCONI PROTESTS - Tens of thousands of women protested in central Rome on Sunday incensed by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's sex scandal allegations, which they say have reinforced out-dated gender stereotypes.
Marches were held in more than 200 Italian cities -- including a protest in the rain- attended by thousands- through the streets of Milan.
PROTESTER SAYING:"We are ashamed, in other countries people laugh at us."
PROTESTER SAYING:
"I think women are almost invisible in Italy, in politics and at work, and I want this to change."
The marches follow a growing number of protests against the premier, who could face trial over a prostitution scandal.
Milan prosecutors filed a request on Wednesday to bring the billionaire media mogul to trial, accusing him of illegally paying for sex with a nightclub dancer when she was under the age of 18.
Berlusconi has dismissed the accusations as "disgusting and disgraceful".
