CAIRO, EGYPT (AUGUST 18, 2013) (REUTERS) - Dozens of mourners and family members attended the burial service of Ammar Badie on Sunday (August 18) in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
Ammar Badie, son of Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Badie, was killed inCairo during Friday's "Day of Rage" protests.Mourners said prayers in the vehicle as Badie's coffin was taken to the burial site, whilst others clambered to carry his coffin to the burial ground.
According to the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party's Facebook page,Ammar Badie died of a bullet wound sustained while taking part in protests inRamses Square.
He is survived by a wife and two children.
His mother attended the burial prayers, but the whereabouts of Mohamed Badie, who is the Islamist movement's General Guide, are unknown. He has been charged with inciting violence and faces a trial that starts on August 25. His son's death follows the killing of the daughter of Mohamed El-Beltagi, a senior Brotherhood politician, in protests this week.
