Reuters - An Emirates Airbus A380 flight from Sydney to Dubai was forced to return to Australia after experiencing an engine fault shortly after takeoff on Sunday night.
Emirates flight EK413 was 20 minutes into its flight from Sydney to Dubai when passengers saw a bright flash on the starboard side and felt an explosion that shook the plane.
Passengers say they then saw flames shooting out from the plane’s No. 3 starboard side engine. Emirates says the plane experienced engine problems but that the engine did not catch on fire.
The plane was at an altitude of 10,000 feet and ascending when the incident occurred. It returned toSydney and passengers were re-booked on alternative flights.
