Two-and-a-half years after crash landing on the Hudson River, a US Airways plane arrives at its original destination in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lindsey Parietti reports.
USA-HUDSON PLANE -Delayed two-and-a-half years, the airplane that made a providential crash landing on the Hudson River finally reaches its destination.
The US Airways jet arrived in North Carolina Friday - its original destination when it hit a flock of geese after taking off from New York's LaGuardia Airport in 2009.
After the engines lost power, Pilot Chesley Sullenberger steered the 155 people on board to safety with a dangerous water landing.
The Airbus A320 plane will be on display at the Carolinas Aviation Museum as of January 15, the third anniversary of the so-called "Miracle on the Hudson".
The heroic Sullenberger and other crew and passengers will attend a ceremony celebrating its arrival.
