LITTLETON, COLORADO, UNITED STATES (MARCH 15, 2012) (NBC-Former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich walked into a federal prison on Thursday (March 15) in Colorado. Blagojevich entered the federal correctional institution in Littleton, near Denver.
The 55-year old, who has been convicted on corruption charges including trying to sell or trade U.S. President Barack Obama's vacated senate seat, is starting a 14 year sentence.
Blagojevich says he is innocent and has filed an appeal in his case. He has refused to apologize for his actions, even launching a publicity campaign on national talk shows to declare his innocence. Only at his sentencing in December 2011 did he finally apologize.
