U.N. inspectors postpone their second visit to the Damascus suburbs to investigate allegations of gas attacks last week.
DAMASCUS, SYRIA (AUGUST 27,2013) (REUTERS) - Syria has agreed to allow U.N. inspectors access to sites in suburbs ofDamascus where alleged chemical attacks occurred last week.
The inspectors visited the Mouadamiya suburb in the west of Damascus on Monday (August 26), where a vehicle was shot by unknown snipers, a U.N. spokesman said.They were expected to continue their investigation on Tuesday (August 27) and cars were seen moving around the Damascus hotel where the U.N. team is staying. However, the U.N. inspectors did not speak to journalists and it was not clear who was going where.
Syria's foreign minister Walid Moualem later said that the second day of a U.N. inspection team's work had been postponed to Wednesday (August 28) due to disagreements among the rebels over security arrangements.
