China-Shenzhou-9/Blast Off -- China's manned spacecraft Shenzhou-9 blasts off
CCTV BEIJING - China's manned spacecraft Shenzhou-9 blasted off at 18:37 Beijing Time Saturday from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gansu Province.
The spacecraft, carried by the Long-March II-F carrier rocket, is expected to dock with Tiangong-1 space lab module that was sent into space on September 29, 2011.The rendezvous and docking maneuver will take place for two times, automatically and manually.
The Shenzhou-9's three crew members, including one female, will board the Tiangong-1 after the docking is completed, living there and conducting scientific experiments.
