British fuel tanker truck drivers have voted to go on strike raising the prospect of possible disruption of supply to thousands of petrol stations around the country.
UK-TANKER STRIKE - The UK is already one of the most expensive places to buy petrol now it's facing the prospect of limited supplies.
Tanker drivers have voted to strike over pay, conditions and job insecurity.
The Assistant General Secretary of the union Unite is Diana Holland.
DIANA HOLLAND, ASSISTANT GENERAL SECRETARY, UNITE UNION, SAYING:
"We know that the strength of feeling here is that we cannot have standards in this really vital sector so undermined continuously. It is a community safety issue and it's about basic standards."
Unite is BritaIn's largest trade union, with 1.5 million members working across many sectors.
The Prime Minister said plans were in place to use soldiers to drive fuel tankers if necessary.
No date has yet been set for the strike but there are fears the prospect of it may lead to panic buying
