United Continental resumes its Boeing 787 Dreamliner service, taking off on a flight from Houston to Chicago.
HOUSTON, TEXAS, UNITED STATES (MAY 20, 2013) (NBC) - United Continental's Boeing 787 Dreamliner returned to the skies on Monday (May 20), taking off from Houston on the first flight after a worldwide grounding of the planes in mid-January.
The first United 787 flight into Chicago from Houston will arrive at 1:35 p.m., according to a United spokeswoman.
The 787 was grounded worldwide in mid-January after two batteries overheated. Regulators approved a redesigned battery system in April.
