LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (MAY 4, 2012)(CITY HALL POOL) - Conservative Boris Johnson won a second term as London's mayor on Friday (May 4), beating opposition Labour rival Ken Livingstone and giving a boost to Prime Minister David Cameron's party after heavy losses in local elections.
Johnson, 47, a flamboyant and outspoken character, who used a Star Wars pun in his acceptance speech, has been tipped as a possible future Conservative leader. He defied voting trends elsewhere to beat Labour's Livingstone, who had been mayor for eight years before losing to Johnson in 2008.
Boris Johnson was re-elected to the position of Mayor of London after a closely fought campaign with Labour candidate and former-Mayor Ken Livingstone
