USA (Next Media) - A man who worked as a civilian Army employee was shot to death on Wednesday in a parking lot at theFort Knox Army base in Kentucky in an incident that prompted a security lockdown there, officials said.
The murder occurred at about 5.40pm local time.
Authorities said the shooting was "not a random act" and the shooter remained at large on Wednesday night.Authorities said they were looking for an African-American man, about 5 foot 9 inches, who fled the scene on a black Yamaha motorbike.
The name of the victim has been withheld for 24 hours in order to allow for proper notification of the family.
The shooting, which came less than two weeks after a U.S. Marine shot dead two colleagues at aVirginia base, occurred on Wednesday afternoon outside the U.S. Army Human Resources Commandheadquarters, the Army said in a statement.
