A Virgin Australia plane's left wing hits the tail of a Jetstar aircraft, causing damage to both at an airport in Melbourne.
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (AUGUST 10, 2013) (NINE NETWORK) - A Virgin Australia plane's left wing hit the back of a Jetstar Airbus A320 while being pushed back on the tarmac on Saturday (August 10) morning causing an estimated 2.74 million U.S. dollars (3 million Australian dollars) worth of damage to both jets, local media reported.
The Virgin aircraft was carrying 175 passengers from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast inQueensland.We were actually afraid. We thought the plane would actually blow because of all the fuel," said passenger Joseph Lattouf.
The Virgin plane has a damaged wing and the Jetstar aircraft had it's tail cone ripped off. There were no reports of any injuries.
