Simpson, a former National Football League star and Hollywood actor, was serving a sentence of 3 to 33 years in prison for taking part in a scheme to recover sports memorabilia he claimed was stolen from him.His current legal team will argue his conviction should be overturned and a new trial be granted on the basis on inadequate legal representation.
