R Reports - South Africa's Oscar Pistorius wipes away tears while praying with family members in a Pretoria court on Monday.
Prosecutors are set to try the Olympic and Paralympic star for the premeditated murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, who he admitted he shot through a bathroom door in his Pretoria home on Valentine's Day.
During the brief session, court officials announced the trial will officially begin on March 3, 2014.The 26-year-old double amputee claims he acted in self-defence against what he thought was an intruder.
The case has riveted South Africans and attracted a media storm of attention globally.
Pistorius was one of the most celebrated athletes at the London Olympics after winning a spot in the 400 meter semi-finals.
He later won the gold for the same distance at the Paralympics.
