The Obamas celebrate rhythm and blues with a Motown concert at the White House that includes performances by musicians such as John Legend, Jamie Foxx, Seal, Smoky Robinson and Stevie Wonder.
WASHINGTON, D.C., UNITED STATES (FEBRUARY 24, 2011) WETA/PBS - An impressive line-up of stars performed at a Motown concert at the White House on Thursday (February 24) as U.S. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama celebrated the sounds of their youth.
Singers included Smoky Robinson, Jamie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, John Legend, Seal, Sheryl Crow, Nick Jonas and others who came to celebrate Motown and its message in front of a cheering youthful audience.Stevie Wonder performed "You are the sunshine to my life" while Mrs. Obama sang along.
Earlier in the afternoon, Mrs. Obama welcomed more than 100 students from across the country to a workshop about Motown music and its power.
