BUENA PARK, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (SEPTEMBER 19, 2012) (NBC) - An amusement park ride in California malfunctioned on Wednesday (September 19) leaving 20 riders stranded in the air for more than three hours.
The riders were stuck 300-feet in the air when the ride's safety security system activated, causing the ride to come to a halt.
One mother said she watched helplessly from the ground while her daughter was stuck on the WindSeeker ride at Knott's Berry Farm.
"I was really nervous and scared. After an hour I started freaking out," Giacomaro said.
One stuck rider was in pretty good spirits in spite of the ordeal.
"The only bad thing I wasn't facing the sunset, I had to keep turning around. I was thirsty and I got a bottle of water and I got a free t-shirt," Garrison said.
This is the second time in two weeks that the same ride has stranded riders. The "Windseeker" also malfunctioned on Friday (September 7).
