A mobster, believed to be in charge of a powerful clan of Neapolitan Mafia, the Comorra has been arrested near Naples.
CASAL DI PRINCIPE, ITALY (JANUARY 21, 2013) (SKY ITALIA) - Italian police on Monday (January 21) arrested Carmine Schiavone, a mobster considered the "prince regent" of the Casalesi family of the Neapolitan mafia, the Comorra.
Schiavone, 29, is the son of Francesco, nicknamed 'Sandokan' because of his likeness to a pirate with the same name on a popular TV show.
Francesco Schiavone, one of the most powerful Camorra bosses in the 1980s, is one of the central figures in the international best-seller "Gomorra", by Roberto Saviano.
Behind bars since 1998, 'Sandokan' is believed to act via his son Carmine and still remains very influential.
Carmine Schiavone, accused of aggravated extortion, carried some 8,000 euros in cash but no weapons at the time of his arrest.
