Westminster Abbey is confirmed as the venue for the wedding of Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011.
UK-ROYAL WEDDING VENUE - London's Westminster Abbey has been confirmed as the venue for Britain's upcoming royal wedding.
Prince William and fiancée Catherine Middleton will be wed at the church on Friday April 29, 2011, according to a royal statement.
William, son of heir to the throne Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, announced his engagement to long-term girlfriend Middleton last week, after a courtship that lasted nearly a decade.
Westminster Abbey has been the location of a number of high profile royal weddings in the past.
William will be following in the footsteps of his grandmother, current British monarch Queen Elizabeth II, whose marriage to Prince Phillip took place at the same venue in 1947.
