A night-time car chase in Southern California comes to a dramatic end when the driver gets out of his vehicle and begins attacking police.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (JULY 5, 2013) (NBC) - A car chase in Los Angeles, California ended on Friday night (July 5), when the suspect got out of his vehicle and attacked the police officers who were chasing him.
Aerial footage shows the suspect's green Jeep coming to a halt shortly after suffering a flat tyre. U.S. broadcaster NBC reported that the suspect had driven over a spike strip laid out by law enforcement.The footage then shows the suspect getting out and charging towards the police cars behind him.
Several officers rushed to the scene to subdue the suspect, and can be seen in the video bringing him under control.
NBC has reported that the initial cause of the pursuit was unknown.
