China-ET Rumor -- Farmer detained for making up, spreading story of killing extra-terrestrial being
China Central Television (CCTV) - A farmer in Binzhou City, east China's Shandong Province, was summoned on June 10 and then was detained by the police for making up and spreading a story of killing an extra-terrestrial (ET) accidentally.
The farmer surnamed Li posted the story and photos of the so-called ET on a website on June 9. To make people believe him, Li even left his real name, address and telephone number on the website. He received over one million replies within one day.The police in Binzhou City found the so-called ET in freezer at Li's home.
"It was about 1.7 to 1.8 meters tall, with a large head. It was white. My first feeling was that it was like something made from rubber, because it felt elastic, but not very elastic. It could be crumbed. Just like that," said Zhou Xiaofei, head of police station on Shizhong Street under Public Security Sub-bureau in Bincheng District, Binzhou City.
After finding the questionable points in this case, the police interrogated Li. And he admitted that the so-called ET was a rubber model made by himself, and the story posted on the website was also made up by himself.
According to appraisal, the model was made of steel wire, bone glue and antholeucin.
Li said that he made such a story just because he is fond of ET and hoped to draw attention from ET enthusiasts.
At present, Li is under a five-day detention for fabricating lies and disrupting normal social order.
