Australians show support for fellow citizen Assange.
AUSTRALIA-ASSANGE RALLY - There's at least one place Julian Assange is feeling the love.... his home country Australia.
Hundreds of Assange supporters rallied in Sydney Friday to back the WikiLeaks founder who's recent publishing of sensitive US documents has caused a diplomatic uproar around the world.
Protesters in Sydney say -- don't shoot the messenger.
UNIDENTIFIED PROTESTER SAYING:
"It is shameful our prime minister has been so quick to condemn."ORGANISER ANTONY LOWENSTEIN SAYING:
"To say to the Australian government, the Gillard Government, behaviour in the last two weeks has been utterly outrageous, outrageous."
Australia's Attorney-General and Prime Minister have voiced strong criticism of Assange and WikiLeaks.
Assange, an Australian citizen, turned himself in to authorities in the UK earlier this week.
He's facing sexual misconduct allegations in Sweden and is awaiting a hearing next week.
