Demonstrators gather outside various government buildings in Egypt's capital Cairo -- a sign that protests are widening as they enter their 17th day.
At the Ministry of the Environment, these workers are calling for money which they say is owed to them.
UNIDENTIFIED PART TIME WORKER AT MINISTRY, SAYING:"We want to remove the oppression practiced against us. All the workers, both part time and permanent, have specific demands. First of all, the big heads, the corrupt heads who are taking our money and our rights. We get money sent to us at the ministry or via the ministry. Where does this money go?"
Another group demonstrates outside the Tax Authority building, and they're demanding transparency.
UNIDENTIFIED PROTESTER AT TAX AUTHORITY HEADQUARTERS, SAYING:
"There is a report from the national accountant's office that says there is 35 million [pounds] which has been spent under the guise of real estate assets. This money was spent in two months, two months! The national accountant bureau asked for clarification and so far they haven't received an answer."
Some say the new wave of demonstrations could push the country's army to intervene in an effort to avert economic paralysis.
Until now the military has largely limited itself to guarding some streets and state buildings.
