Spanish police raid a cocaine lab they say is the biggest in Europe, arresting at least 25 and confiscating over 300 kilograms of cocaine which was ready to hit the market.
MADRID, SPAIN (JANUARY 18, 2010) REUTERS - Spanish police raided Europe's biggest and most sophisticated cocaine lab in Madrid, investigators said Tuesday (January 18).
Operation 'Collapse' was the culmination of two years of police work and resulted in the arrest of at least 25 people.Over 300 kg of cocaine which were ready for distribution were found in the Madrid lot, investigators said. Thirty-three tonnes of chemicals, two million euros in cash, arms, luxury cars and 470 mobile phones, in addition to 50 million euros worth of assets, were also discovered.
Police said at least 10 police units were involved in the raid.
