Australia (Next Media) - Staff at a hotel overpowered a man attempting an armed robbery in Sydney’s south.
The 27-year-old suspect smashed the glass doors of a hotel pub on Station Street, Engadine, at about 1:15am on Sunday.
The suspect approached the bartender with a pistol and demanded he open the safe.
Other staff members became involved and managed to overpower the suspect, holding him down until police arrived.The suspect was taken to the hospital by police.
Police are investigating a possible link between the incident and another pub break in earlier in the night.
