USA-DEAD FISH - In Redondo Beach, California, boaters at the King Harbor Marina awoke to the sight -- and stench -- of millions of dead sardines floating in the harbor.
Aerial images of the marina showed waters around the private boat slips choked by massive silvery pools of dead fish. Local police believe that too many fish gathered in such a concentrated area may have exhausted the water's oxygen supply but are still investigating the cause of the mystery.
In the meantime, a clean-up effort is underway in an effort to keep the stench of the dead sardines from intensifying.
