The Duchess of Cornwall says the Royal family is eagerly awaiting the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first child.
CORNWALL, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (JULY 15, 2013) (UK POOL) - Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, revealed on Monday (July 15) that the Royal family is eagerly awaiting the birth of the future heir to the British throne.
The Duchess made the comments while accepting a gift after unveiling a commemorative plaque at a children's hospice in Cornwall.
She was presented with a wrapped gift and given well wishes for her upcoming birthday on Wednesday (July 17).The host then eluded to the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first child.
Camilla said the baby might come on the same day as her birthday and the family are all waiting on the end of the telephone.
The child of Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, who is popularly known as Kate, will be third in line to the throne and is to be born in the private Lindo wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London where Prince William was born 31 years ago.
Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997 after splitting up with Prince Charles, also had Prince Harry there.
Prince Charles, the heir apparent, was present for the births of his sons and PrinceWilliam, second in the line to the throne, plans to be there for his first child.
The expecting couple themselves have remained vague about the exact date the baby is due other than to say mid-July and the arrival will be announced in a combination of the traditional and modern - via Twitter, websites and with a notice outside Buckingham Palace.
