Indiana missing boy found 19 years later.
INDIANA STATE POLICE) - After 19 years, the search for a missing Indiana boy has come to an end.
Police announced on Thursday (January 10) that the missing child, Richard Wayne Landers Jr., was found living in Long Praire, Minnesota under an assumed name.
According to police, Landers was kidnapped in July 1994 by his paternal grandparents during a custody battle.Landers' father said he always believed that he would see his son again.
"We've always just kept it in the back of our minds that we believe we were going to see him again," Richard Landers Sr. said.
Police say the grandparents have verified the identity of the 24 year-old man who is now married and expecting a child.
The grandparents were charged with misdemeanor interference with custody at the time of the abduction but the charges were dismissed in 2008 after the case went cold.
