National Reconnaissance Office launches into space what experts say is the largest spy satellite ever.
CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES (NOVEMBER 20, 2010) NBC - The U.S. National Reconnaissance Office launched what experts say is the largest satellite ever sent into space.
A Delta-4 Heavy rocket blasted into space just after sundown Sunday (November 21), carrying a new spy satellite.
The Air Force isn't releasing many details about the launch, calling it a classified mission.
Sunday's launch was only the fourth time that the giant booster has flown since its first voyage in 2004. The Delta-4 Heavy is the military's largest rocket in service.
The launch had been scrubbed several times in recent months due to technical problems.
