A British tourist dies after falling off a cliff near waterfalls in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, local media reports.
WENTWORTH FALLS, AUSTRALIA (JANUARY 6, 2012) (AUSTRALIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION) - A British tourist died after falling 80 metres (262 feet) off a cliff near a waterfall at Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney on Sunday (January 6), Australia's ABC reported.
Local media said the 20-year-old male was with with friends at the popular tourist spot when he slipped.A woman who was in the area said she warned the group about the slippery conditions prior to the accident.
"We were at the bottom of the waterfalls and I saw a group of French and English kids, well, you know adults mucking around on the rocks and it's very slippery. The they went down to the next one. I knew something was going to happen and then I just saw panic," said the unidentified woman.
Local media reported that the man's body was retrieved on Monday (January 7).
