The U.S. evangelical broadcaster who predicted the world's end on May 21 says he got it wrong - but not completely.
USA-JUDGEMENT DAY/CAMPING- Evangelical broadcaster Harold Camping's admitting his prediction the end of the world would start on May 21 wasn't completely correct.
The 82-year-old Californian says the event did happen but without the huge earthquakes he expected.
Harold Camping, Family Radio Network of Christian radio stations, saying:
"I was wrong. It was to be understood spiritually, not physically, and yet in a sense it is still the same, that judgment has come. The world is now under judgment where it was not prior to May 21. Spiritually there's a big difference in the world that we can't detect at all with our eyes but we can know from the bible."
Volunteers from the U.S.-based Christian group Family Radio travelled as far afield as the Philippines warning of the world's impending doom.
Harold Camping insists the planet is still only months away from total annihilation.
He says May 21st was the beginning of the end.
He's warning the world still has a date with total destruction on October 21st.
