Six people are killed and 20 injured in building collapse in Brazil's business capital, Sao Paulo. The building was under construction at the time of the accident.
SAO PAULO (AUGUST 27, 2013) (REUTERS) - A building collapse killed six people Tuesday (August 27) and injured 20 more.
The building had been under construction when it collapsed on 35 construction workers at the site."My brother-in-law said that he is dead but I don't believe it. I will only believe it when I see it. I want to see my child first. When I see it I will believe it," cried Maria de Fatima, who's son is one of those missing at the site.
Four men have been pulled from the rubble and walked away, but five people remain unaccounted for.
Emergency rescue workers on the scene used rescue dogs to help locate those missing while onlookers watched in silence.
"I was the only one barely hurt," said Jose Candido standing amongst the crow of watching people. I only got a scratch and my butt hurts because I came down sliding across the floor with my legs in the air and when I stopped I was on top of a tile.
The building had been a two-story edifice in the final stage of construction when it collapsed.
