Two British women who were raped in Barbados in 2010 come face to face with the man accused of the crime, but say he is not their attacker.
HOLETOWN, ST. JAMES, BARBADOS (NOVEMBER 20, 2012) (REUTERS/MARIA BRADSHAW) - Two British women came face to face on Tuesday (November 22) with the man accused of raping them in Barbados in 2010. The women -- Rachel Turner, 30, andDiane Davies, 63 -- said the accused Derick Crawford is not their attacker.
The women, who were raped on separate occasions in October 2010, were at the Holetown Magistrates Court to attend a committal hearing. The hearing was adjourned but Turner and Davies met Crawford outside the courthouse.According to local media, the women were preparing to take the witness stand to declare that Crawford was not their attacker. It has also been reported that Turner and Davies, along with British actress Hilary Heath, who was raped in Barbados in 2004, are paying for lawyer Andrew Pilgrim to represent Crawford.
The hearing has been rescheduled for Friday (November 23).
